The Israel Archaeological Foundation currently focuses it activities on operating the Temple Mount Sifting Project, including research and publication of the artifacts uncovered by the project to date.
The Foundation is a non-profit organization (“amuta”), established in 2014.
Donations to the organization are tax-refundable in Israel. The amuta’s number is: 580594794.
The objectives of the organization are:
- To support and advance archaeological research in Israel, in order to increase knowledge concerning ancient remains from all periods in Israel and its multi-cultural heritage.
- To provide organizational, financial and infrastructural assistance throughout the stages of archaeological research, including surveys, excavations, preservation, the processing of finds and their publication, whether on request or by the organization’s initiative.
- To advance educational and touristic activity, with the intention of developing and deepening awareness in the field of archaeology and heritage, their essence and their importance in Israeli society.
- To engage in public information activities, to raise awareness and sensitivity to problems and developments related to archaeology and heritage in Israel.
- Distribution of stipends to researchers/students engaged in archaeological research.
